West had its first intrasquad scrimmage last night at West's stadium. It was the first full padded practice of the year and the coaches and parents who came out to see the action got a little taste of what they will see with this year's squad. It was a controlled scrimmage that put the players through game like situations. Both sides of the ball played well, with West's new look offense putting the ball in the air quite a bit. Expect a more balanced attack from the Maroons this year on offense. The defense, which is loaded with juniors, was flying around the field last night playing physical and causing more than a few turnovers. West will hold it's Maroon/White scrimmage next Friday night at 7 pm at West's stadium.
